The following job description is for our Developer Relations Lead position. Not for you? Check out the other opportunities at Storj here.
Storj is a leader in Web3 with the world's first decentralized cloud object storage network with enterprise SLAs. We make object storage more secure, private, and resilient than leading cloud storage providers. Our mission is to enable the decentralized future, and our vision is to be the storage layer for the decentralized internet.
Storj is looking for a Developer Relations Lead to create engaging developer content that drives adoption of our decentralized cloud object storage service. Your background is in cloud infrastructure and most recently you have had a developer relations role. You understand what developers like (and don’t) about a cloud infra stack; what gets them excited about trying a new technology, and how they want to learn about a new technology. You know this because you’ve been a developer, cloud engineer, or a solutions architect. You understand cloud architecture, you have experience with distributed systems, you have experience creating developer-centric content. You will be an advocate for Storj, demonstrating its benefits along with open source and Web3 decentralized ethos to developers around the world, with sample code, tutorials, demos, virtual/in-person speaking engagements. You will be the technical thought leader within our growing 200,000-strong community and reach out to new technical audiences. You like to seek out new communities to learn and share. You love to participate in hackathons, virtual events, webinars, meetups and write technical blogs. You are hands-on-code, jump in to assist communities, to help them build applications and move data to Storj.
Please note: this role is based in the United States and is fully remote. We are unable to sponsor work visas at this time.
Skills and Attributes:
The ideal candidate has a proven track record in successfully managing and creating developer content and an engagement program; you will have experience on “both sides of the blog.” You may have been a developer, cloud engineer, or a solutions architect. You have been part of a DevRel team or lead one. You live in command line interface (CLI) to work with virtualization, cloud infrastructure, data management tools (databases, big data). You care deeply about privacy, security and can talk about strong encryption and public key infrastructure (PKI). You have worked with open source tools such as MinIO. You know cloud storage protocols such as S3. You enjoy digging into cutting edge decentralized and Web3 technology like IPFS, enabling the next generation of DeFi networks, privacy-centric and edge applications. You also may have experience with cryptocurrencies, ethereum, and other decentralized internet projects. You thrive on engaging with your developer peers and collaborating with them, showing them, bridging the gap between Web2 to Web3. You’re an evangelist.
