Storj Labs Overview

Storj Labs Inc. is pioneering decentralized cloud storage with the world's first decentralized cloud storage network, Tardigrade, along with making object storage more affordable, secure, resilient, and faster than other leading cloud storage providers.  Our mission is to enable the decentralized future. Our vision is to be the storage layer for the decentralized internet. Accomplishing this goal means building a team equipped and empowered to propel us forward.

Storj is looking for a Product Marketing Manager. In this role you will participate cross functionally in the complete go-to-market (GTM) journey of Storj products. From determining positioning and naming to competitive analysis and external communications, you will help shape the voice of the product and help grow our consumer base. You’ll work cross-functionally with teams that span sales, marketing, legal, product development, engineering and more. In this role, you'll be involved with product marketing strategy from beginning to end. Working closely with the sales team, you’ll lead creation of materials serving to inspire, motivate and win over both developers and flagship brands, generating the most captivating customer stories in the business.

Candidates should have in-depth knowledge and experience developing and scaling go-to-market activities and creating new market categories for SaaS infrastructure software applications. Three core attributes for success in this role are business acumen, creativity in communication and a technical point-of-view. Technical aptitude is demonstrated by comfort communicating with enterprise customers through compelling means, and relating to client-developers through methods and styles relevant to their needs.

Storj is a globally-distributed company. As a remote-first team, we’ve built a culture based on transparency and open communication. Storj provides the opportunity to gather together (whenever traveling is deemed safe) in an optional week-long retreat several times per year. This role is available for remote work, but preferred that you are located in Austin, TX.

Storj offers a culture of empowerment and progress. We provide extensive company-wide and individualized professional development, a peer mentorship program, and training. Our suite of benefits is generous and comprehensive. On top of strong healthcare benefits, we offer substantial equity, unlimited paid time off (PTO), and considerable parental leave.

  • Define and execute GTM strategies to drive both developer and enterprise adoption for all Storj product lines, including Tardigrade, our object storage product
  • Become a domain expert on Tardigrade and fully comprehend its features and roadmap with an in-depth understanding of how developers use it
  • Develop and manage communications for product releases to include use-case examples, best practices, and tools to help developers and prospects clearly understand the value of our products
  • Understand the full scope of client-developers’ needs around growing their business, market trends, and the competitive landscape
  • Partner closely with the Product Team to understand the product strategy and develop top line customer narratives, thought leadership content and customer success stories
  • Develop new marketing strategies to gain VP and C-level mindshare across many industries
  • Produce high fidelity externally facing content including thought leadership content, customer stories, webinars, data sheets, solution guides, and more for all funnel stages
  • Create dynamic and easy to understand internally facing content including sales enablement and training materials, competitive positioning, FAQs, and cheat sheets
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive the business & product marketing strategy. Track, measure and report against objectives
  • Work directly with major partners and customers, to drive market share, awareness, partner enablement, collateral, recruitment, and co marketing efforts

Must Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in software as a service (SaaS) or infrastructure as a service (IaaS) product marketing and technical marketing, with a proven track record of driving sales enablement tools and materials
  • You are a strategic thinker -- you like to build a deep product knowledge and figure out how to highlight our key product differentiators in an impactful way.
  • Experience building marketing programs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communications skills – written and verbal
  • Attention to detail, organization and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
